Setting up new machine had a brain lapse...

Post by salinas212 » Fri Aug 31, 2018 4:08 pm

This problem has been mentioned here before and while possible to correct, I'm going to need a helping hand since I'm unable to find mention of it in the archive. Basically I set it up for Sept 1st instead of August 31st and now it prompts me that I can't set the date/time for an earlier/previous date. Yeah yeah, I know, utterly stupid but hey some of these 'lapses' turn out to be kinda fun... jus not this one. So swat me if ya must then remind me how to get this corrected. Please?

BTW, new machine is one listed in my sig

You have to go in and erase the data and then it will let you reset the calendar back.
It will let you go forward all you want to but it won't let you go backwards if there is any data on the machine during the time frame that you want to go backwards.

Just make sure you have it already downloaded in your software before you do it and you need to erase the SD card also because it contains files with the wrong dates on it.

Or don't use the machine for a couple of nights and then it should let you go backwards.

Did you see the "erase all data" option?

I prolly did see the "EAD" and will try that immediately. But it was a virgin SD and machine tho I'll go back now, see what I can do in this regard. Thanks Pugs!

Even if the only data that was on it was a brief on/off thing the machine won't let anyone set it backwards if there is the tiniest of files within the time frame you want to go back.
I have done this myself. Accidentally moved the calendar forward a day when I was changing the clock for DST and didn't catch it until 5 days later. Nothing I could do but erase everything and start fresh. Not the end of the world...I don't answer to anyone regarding usage or compliance and I already had the data downloaded to the software so who cares what the machine has stored in its internal memory or the SD card.

Done! Piece-O-Cake fix thanks to the Devine Ms Pugsy. Thank you so very much! Was dreading dragging the old one back out and using it a few more days after cleaning it up and packing it away then doing battle with my self-inflicted bugaboo on the new one.
