Pressure decrease over time - Desperate for Help or Advice

Post by Polnius7 » Thu Aug 02, 2018 8:37 am

Years ago, when I had medical insurance, I had a sleep study and was prescribed a ResMed VPAP Auto 25 machine. Even though it took me a while to get used to it, the machine has worked great and improved my life quite a bit.

Recently the pressure started gradually declining until now it’s nothing but a trickle. I think it may have been a response to leaks since I let my beard get too bushy. Unfortunately I no longer have health insurance so I have to deal with the problem myself.

Is there a way to know if the machine is failing, mechanically, or if this is some kind of programmed response to leaks? If it’s a response is there a way to reset the machine back to its original settings?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Try resetting it. Unplug power cord for a bit , plug back in. This may or may not help. Sure wont hurt...

Thanks for your reply! The unplug/reboot thing was the very first thing I tried. No change. Any other ideas?

How old is the machine? How many run hours?

It may be time to pick up a newer one.

Some of the folks here have good used machines for huge savings.

Check your local Craig's list and Facebook market place. I recently bought an Air Curve 10 vauto with 106 hours for $225. Right now, there is women's S9 auto with 24 hours on it listed for $202.

Growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional.
