full face mask red marks

Post by moosie » Fri Jul 27, 2018 9:29 pm

Is there anyway to prevent your cheeks from getting red marks after having the full face mask on all night? It almost takes 10 hours for the marks to fade. I am allergic to latex.

You can try the following because it worked for me.

1. Don’t yank down the mask straps so tight. What I do is put my machine on “face mask fit test” (puts machine basically on max pressure). Tighten straps enough to stop leaks and you should be good.

2. Use a face mask liner from REMzzz or better yet, buy some well fitted quality ones from Pad-A-Cheek. Wash liners by hand with some hand soap every few days as required to keep them clean. Have several sets to rotate through. I use REMzzz right now but will order some pad a cheek liners when I wear out my existing stick of liners.

3. Get a mask that uses memory foam cushion. I have both ResMed AirTouch F20 and Airfit F20 and I like the AirTouch F20 a lot. I use liners with either mask to maximize cushion life and keep everything “sanitary”.

4. Mask strap covers work to also prevent red marking in your face and neck as I have that problem with my masks.
Hope that helps
