Surplus CPAP Blowers for Experimenters (Geek Alert)
For the geeks/'lectronic wonks amoung you, I just came across this https://www.surpluscenter.com/Electrica ... 6-1450.axd. Resmed blower unit from CPAP machines. No wiring diagrams available, but it's a stepper motor, so likely 4 of the 8 wires should be easy to figure out. What the remaining 4 wires are for isn't clear, but likely are for pressure control/feedback, etc. The die-cast zinc (aloominiminum?) case clearly suppresses noise/vibration. I'm sort of tempted . . .

I'd be willing to bet that it's not a stepper, rather a three phase motor, or "brushless dc motor" as they're calling them these days. the other wires are probably position sense, or who knows, something else.Slartybartfast wrote: ↑Sun Jul 22, 2018 1:56 pmFor the geeks/'lectronic wonks amoung you, I just came across this https://www.surpluscenter.com/Electrica ... 6-1450.axd. The new "easy breathe" motors are way different.. i wonder what that one came out of.
