Rather than reply to each individual post, as I started to do, I'l combine them all here.

Thanks again everyone for their help and words of encouragement. I was really pleased this morning when I left my GP's office, especially after my experience yesterday at the university health clinic. I guess the thing I took away from this experience is to be persistent. Fortunately, I found a good doctor who was willing to help on the second try. If he wouldn't have, I would have searched out another one, and kept trying.

This is a great forum, with lots of great people who are willing to help...I really appreciate that. I've been lurking for a bit and reading through the previous posts...lots of good information in there. I'm looking forward to getting my machine and starting to get some treatment. In hindsight, I've had noticeable sleeping problems for around 10 years or so, but it was within the last two years that I had confirmed for myself that it was OSA...mainly by all of the symptoms that I have, but then finally when my wife couldn't sleep one night and while watching me sleep saw me stop breathing. It took me two more years of suffering with this problem before I actually got motivated enough to try to do something about it...don't ask me why it took so long, as in retrospect, it was silly to have put it off...it got to the point that I had to take time off from grad school I was so tired all of the time and couldn't function at the level I had previously been doing. (I'm back in school now, and I guess that may be part of the reason I finally decided to pursue this aggresively...I was back to fighting to perform up to my level of expectation again). Well, I've now got all of my ducks in a row and it's just a matter of seeing if I respond to CPAP treatment well....I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I'll definitely report back in on how things are going once I get a chance to use the APAP for a bit. Also, I'm sure I'm going to have lots of questions as well!

Thanks everybody!
