Your apneas are 3-4 per hour (which is too many) because you're using your cpap.

Can you not use it on occasion? sure, absolutely, you can use it never if you want.

Should you skip using it? No.

3 or 4 might mean your settings may not be ideal.
The number displayed on the machine only shows the events that got by the therapy.
Without it, you probably would have had many more.

You should not skip CPAP, not even for naps. Sleeping without it defeats the purpose of sleeping!

Also, you do need to work on lowering those numbers. Even though they say under five is OK, I know I feel rotten when it goes above 1.

hi mikey and welcome aboard! you can see how the folks here respond to the notion of giving up cpap.

you mention weight loss. but losing weight does not CURE apnea. nothing short of major surgery can do that and even then, it's not guaranteed.

if you'd like, the folks here can help you to achieve even lower numbers and better sleep.

just let them know!

good luck.
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.
