Lower pressures with nasal/pillow masks than FFMs?

Do nasal masks and nasal pillow masks generally require less minimum/maximum pressures than full face masks to achieve the same results? I just tried using a DreamWear nasal mask and it seemed to deliver more air (pressure) than my DreamWear FFM while using the same pressure settings on a DreamStation Auto.

Murray, I have observed lower leak rates with nasal/nasal pillow masks
than with full face masks; but no pressure differences.
Have you checked your mask setting?
When properly set, the internal computer compensates as needed.

It doesn't deliver any more pressure, if anything, it delivers slightly *LESS* because of the extra resistance to the airflow that the smaller mask openings provide.

What *does* happen for some people is that the FFM pushes their lower jaw back, and that narrows the airway, and that causes the need for more pressure to stop the breathing events.
