What was your leak graph like using the FF as compared to the Swift? I bet that the leaks you were experiencing with the FF were causing your problems.jdacal wrote:My Respironics Auto tended to stay at full pressure when I used the Remstar full face mask. For some reason the full face would show very high snore index.
When I switched to the Swift nasal interface the pressure readings stopped maxing out and varied throughout the night. Also snore index dropped dramatically.

rozenbob,
No offense, but you need to step back and take a deep breath. Many of the things you are saying demonstrates that you do not have a good understanding of the operation of your machine. Making adjustments to your pressure range and expecting certain results based on a lack of understanding will only cause you frustration (which is what you seem to be experiencing). Please don't take offense at my comments. I think you need to understand that you need a better understanding of how your machine works before you can determine what results to expect. I can certainly see why you may be sleeping only 4hrs per night. Please step back and read the commentary below and the great comments of others on the thread and then if you have some questions please post them. A better understanding of what to expect will get you on the road to a better (and longer) nights sleep.
Please, read carefully and ask questions. It seems to me that you have gotten ahead of yourself and need to take a step back for a moment.

You will not be able to look at the display and determine what pressure the machine is using to provide therapy while you are asleep (and experiencing apneas)... this can only be done with the software and smartcard.rozenbob wrote:Initially it was set at 6 to 10, every morning (and during the night) I would check the display that always showed 10.
After 4 nights, they changed the setting to 7 to 11.5, now everytime I checked the display it showed 11.5!!
Either one will work... but you will need the smartcard read to determine what your required pressure is.rozenbob wrote:Should I be using the APAP mode or AFLE to find my present needed setting?

What do you mean by this? This machine will not alter and display a pressure setting based on which mask you are using.rozenbob wrote:Last night I changed to to APAPmode with a range of 8 to 13 and it now displays the actual setting. Full face 9.5, Swift 11, Hybrid 10
Do you mean C-Flex on or off? C-Flex is a feature that makes it easier to exhale when using the machine... it has nothing to do with pressure settings to prevent apneas.rozenbob wrote:I thought both modes were the same with the exception of C-Pap on/off.College Girl wrote:The difference between APAP and AFLE is only one thing - CFLEX (exhalation relief).

I had to get in here and add to this discussion after watching this go on a while.
Arthuranxious, the Auto machine Remstar (I have one and use it nightly) does indeed display the current actual pressure being used on the LED screen.
HOWEVER... Original poster..... You cannot tell what you used over the 4 hours you were sleeping by checking the led screen when you wake up.
The pressure displayed when you wake is just that. The pressure the machine was using at that time that you looked.
You need the card and reader to see what was happening during the time you slept. Or someone sitting on the floor with a watch and a flashlight charting changes which while possible is impractical.
You also really cannot put a mask on and lay there for a while awake and check the screen to get any valuable data.
You need to know what the machine ran at when you were ASLEEP for a decent period of time over a number of days, with the same interface...
This can be done with the card and the reader.
Until you do this you are not gathering any intelligent data that can be used to retitrate yourself.
