New Hybrid Headgear

Post by Issac » Sun Nov 05, 2006 10:35 am

I was told by Respcare it would be here sometime in November. Does anyone know anything more? I feel like a heal calling them all the time (because I talk free stuff out of them and feel guilty afterwards).

Anyone know how high the pressure gets with that little battery cpap? The wife likes it and is going on retreat with her church in the boonies. I forget the most recent name of it but it was advertised with the Aura a wile back.

It's called the Polaris TR now. Used to be called the Aura, and then was called the Everest. It's still made exactly the same by Aeiomed, but is marketed now by Invacare, who chose to change its name to Polaris TR.

It can operate at any single pressure, 4 through 20. The higher the pressure, the more drain on the battery before it would need recharging. I have a Polaris TR. I like it very much, having used it several times on battery during thunderstorm nights.

The User Manual states:
Battery Life: 11 hours @ 10 cm without humidifier.

You can get a nice little integrated heated humidifier with it, too; but you wouldn't want to turn on the heat while using battery operation. That would pull the battery down very fast.

Don't know anything more about the new Hybrid headgear... if you're looking for a good replacement... get a F&P 431 headgear and remove the quick release strap. Works good for me.
