I think with regard to any "medical" device, practice, advice, pill, whatever....., there will always be pro's cons to every argument. It may be healthy to have the disagreements or not. Matter of personal interpretation.
But maybe for those of us noobies and others, we may need a ''reminder'' in how to calculate the AHI for our own personal information.
Might be worth re-visiting..we all need reminders and how-to's from time to time.
Thanks

Actually its obstructive apneas plus hypopneas devided by total hours. Then the question becomes the ratio. Mine are running about 7 oa s and 3 hypopneas for about a 10 ahi. Somes higher. The oa s occur even when machine spikes to high teens, at which point they stop. But oa s are usually one large cluster per nite with a few other scattered around. weird.
Re: AHI Pro/Con
Quick Question:
I have the silverlining software. I see when I print out my DETECTED EVENTS, 2 subcategories, one called Ap's/cardiac oscillations and the other, is hypop's with flow limitation..
Do I count those also?
I had thought those didn't count, but IF that is the case, why are they even detectable if not relevant....
ie...Aps: 1
Aps/w cardiac oscillations-0
Hypops: 12, Hypops w/flow limitation 2...
My take on this would be: my hypops grand total would be 14.
My duration time was 6.63 hours .
Themath (if I run out fingers or toes its all over now with .
So, based on these #'s, I calculate my AHI would be: 2.41
Thanks!
