Is this correct?
I'd like to believe this AHI score BUT SleepyHead tells me I had 'significant periods of major mask leakage'. (Basically I can't keep my mouth shut.
) Can I make anything of these results or has the leakage invalidated them? I'm off to see the consultant tomorrow to review the first couple of weeks data so wish me luck! I might even be able to reapply for my driving licence if he's happy with the results.

Re: Is this correct?
SleepyHead makes mountains out of molehills when it comes to leaks. I really wish Mark (who wrote SleepyHead) had left the judgement comments out of the reporting.
4.37 % of the time out of 7 hours and 20 minutes...isn't "major significant leak" IMHO.
It's about 18 minutes out of the entire night.
For 18 minutes your leak was over 24 L/min red line threshold.
But for 95% of the time it was at OR BELOW 22 L/min.
If it were me and I slept through those 18 minutes of big leaks I would shrug my shoulders and not give it a second thought.
Now if leaks are waking you up then we have a different discussion.

Re: Is this correct?
They don't wake me up but they disturb my husband!
However, I'm not worrying about him just now. I just wondered whether the leaks affected the machine's ability to record apnoea events. I was sort of reasoning that if the air is rushing back out without hindrance then the machine may assume that means a clear airway and be missing events.
Thanks for pointing out that it's actually only a few minutes of the whole night that was affected. That means I actually did rather well!!
Woohoo!!

I can't see just how far above 24 L/min it went during those 18 minutes but it was well below 45 L/min.
Usually at that level of leak the machine if it senses something and has a problem then it will flag whatever as an unknown apnea.
Meaning something happened but the machine didn't know what it was for sure.
My guess is nothing was flagged because nothing happened.
Now the leaks disturbing hubby...well that's between you and him but you are new to this therapy and it does take some time to get all this sorted out and sometimes stuff happens that disturbs the spouse even when we do the best we can.
The other night might husband says to me "did you have water in your hose or mask last night"...now I didn't notice anything but a tiny dampness on my nose but what he said was code for "your machine made a lot of noise last night that sounded like water in the hose and it woke me up"
So you have to learn the code words and go from there.
Hubby's sleep quality is important too but sometimes stuff/crap just happens and about all we can do is the best we can so it doesn't happen too often.

Well, it can't disturb him as much as my snoring did until recently! I once suggested he use ear plugs and he replied, 'It's not just the noise, it's the vibrations!'

When the bed ends up in the other corner of the bedroom, and there was no hanky panky....somebody has a problem.
