My machine is at 21,447 hours!

Post by nawchem » Sun Jan 28, 2018 4:18 pm

An update. Over the last 3 years I had serious hypothyroidism and I felt extreme fatigue, after I got my thyroid corrected and found myself dozing all day I realized that my cpap was probably the problem. My previous diagnsosis my AHI was 30 and I had no stage 3 or 4 sleep. When I moved into my place a year, I moved into an area with abundance of spiders. I park my car 4 hours there are spider webs going from my bumper to the street! My friends unpacked boxes and arranged furniture, there were so many spiders I began sleeping with a night light. I have arachniphobia and a few weeks ago I moved my bed because i feared there were dozens of spiders under my bed. I saw spiders running across my bed and hanging on the wall over my bed. Well surprise, surprise no more insomnia. NO more night light. Now Im just sleeping huge amounts of hours. After sleeping 12 hours I feel pretty refreshed. I never found my replacement cpap hose, so mine is still taped together.

So after 5 months i got a referral to a sleep dr. My dr had sent me to a clinic far from my house with a dr that seems competent but barely speaks English. I nearly took a picture of the clinic because it looks like a 3rd world country. I was impressed that he had a hoard of patients in the waiting room, always a good sign. So he has ordered a new cpap and we're waiting the ever long process to see if insurance will replace mine. My sleep study is in March. He has beds in the exam room, and I don't know if I will be able to sleep a wink in that place. His handout says its ok to take sleeping pills, and I've always heard that can affect the study. He has me scheduled for 730, I go to bed after midnight, wondering how will I ever begin to fall asleep so early.

Whatcha think?

Not sleeping will have a worse effect on the study. Why don't you call the office and ask what pills they recommend.

Unless they are some real incompetents, you won't be expected to go to sleep at 7:30. They just want to get you checked in, go over what will happen in the study, allow you to get relaxed and then finally hook you up.

For my study, they wanted me at 7:00. I told them I would be there at 9:00. They checked me in, and I watched TV until 10:30. Then I called on the little box and told them to come hook me up because I was ready to sleep.

That doesn't sound too damn good. Mine was in a very nice hotel-like room with full amenities.

How far from your house is it? Maybe it is a third-world country.

Not necessarily. Maybe they have to keep coming back because they can't understand his instructions.

Thanks for your replies CG.

Well it is 5 miles from Mexico, everything I"ve seen across the border is a lot fancier than this. There's no parking, on a long strip mall blvd, everything has bars on the windows. He has a neon sign on top of the building. This street is reknown for the place to get a hooker. When I walked 2 blocks to McDonalds to get a drink after my appt 3 different guys asked me if I needed a date. When I called my mom to complain as a guy in a corvette followed me, she told me its because of the way I dress! (Oh the irony, I'd borrowed the outfit from her.)

All the patients seemed to be sick and coughing so I waited outside in the hall for my appointment and used lots of hand sanitizer. The hygiene is part of my concern about trying to sleep in the exam room. I could bring my laptop and watch NOVA their stories about black holes knock me right out.

Maybe she bought the dress because she like guys in Vettes?

Well if they do male hookers too. At least you will have something to do from 7:30, till you get tired. 2nd option is to get him to chase the spiders for you.

As an outward notice of this strike some of them had there lips pierced 8 times
and laced , Hay that might be an option for us to stop mouth breathing !
