Got diagnosed with TMJ due to stress/anxiety/apnea today.
Went to Ent due to fullness in ear and what I thought to be liquid behind eardrum, to find out that I have TMJ and ears are clean.
He said apnea is sometimes caused by tmj. And stress/anxiety can be caused or caused by.
Have you guys ever have TMJ or anything like it?

Re: TMJ and apnea
I have heard of the first two, from TMJ sufferers.
The third one, never, unless possibly from poorly adjusted/fitted mask.
. . . Directly from apnea--I would need to see evidence.

Re: TMJ and apnea
Your temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is a hinge that connects your jaw to the temporal bones of your skull, which are in front of each ear. It lets you move your jaw up and down and side to side, so you can talk, chew, and yawn.
Problems with your jaw and the muscles in your face that control it are known as temporomandibular disorders (TMD). But you may hear it wrongly called TMJ, after the joint.
I had TMD long before apnea. they don't affect or cause each other. has the doc said anything about fixing your TMD?

Yes he said it's likely due to stress and anxiety, he said to get control of my anxiety and if it persists I need to see a dental doctor to give me some kind of thing for biting down in my sleep.
My jaw doesn't hurt, but I do clench a lot.
Very stressful sleep, full of awakenings, now insomnia, and wake up half way through the night with rushing thoughts.
I went to a different doctor, he said acupuncture, medication, massage and Xanax at night to help me control stress and anxiety and sleep better.
All this in 1 day, today. Otherwise all this is new to me
