scalp blisters

Post by bgiddio » Fri Dec 29, 2017 10:45 am

I have suffered with scalp blisters for over a year. I use the Res Med Quattro full mask and use the So Clean machine every day. I have tried scrubbing the straps, but doesn't help. I have no irritation on face, its a different material and color. Its the blue straps that go over my head and around back of head. Allergy?

Send Karen at Padacheek.com a note after Jan 1 (she's closed for the holidays) and tell here where the blisters are and she can then tell you which strap pads will cover that area of your scalp so that the mask headgear material won't be in direct contact with your skin.
She offers many different strap pads and if she doesn't have on that covers the part where you are having the blisters she can make one.

In the meantime, you might wear a welder's bandanna cap under the headgear,
or tack-stitch strips of fleece fabric to the straps.
Another note--see a dermatologist--it could be something else.

Try stopping the SC for a week and see what happens.

I occasionally get a sore on the back of my neck where the lower strap hits my neck. When this happens, I drape a washcloth over my head and neck and then mask up. I do that for a few days and give the sore time to heal. Then I'm good for quite a while.

Good Luck!

I used to get that until I stopped washing my head all the time. Now I'm Blister free.
Instead of Sleep apnea it should be called "Sleep deprivation, starving of oxygen, being poisoned by high CO2 levels, damaging the body and brain while it's supposed to be healing so that you constantly get worse and can never get healthy Apnea"

Maybe you're OVER-cleaning things. I agree with "Julie"......stop using the SO CLEAN machine. It doesn't "clean" anything except your wallet. It's a ripoff designed to separate people from their money. And, what are you using to "scrub" the straps? Are you getting it rinsed out completely? Does your stuff REALLY get that "dirty" in one day?
