For me I opeted for a FF mask, everyone should have one, solves the mouthbreathing problem that many using a nasal mask don't have a clue about basically leaving them untreated, while thinking they are good to go, or worse quit XPAP, because it doesn't work.

Correct, XPAP doesn't work, unless you do it correctly. Then after you get the software up and running, you can still buy that Nasal Mask and see if you mouthbreath with the software. You will still have the FF Mask for times when you are congested. Jim

What FFM are you using? Your profile still shows a nasal mask.

95% of the time I use a Comfort Gel Nasal mask, Medium, when the congestion gets too bad or my vent rate becomes excessive, I go to my Comfort Gel Full Face Mask. Plan "B"! Jim The FF Mask is cooler to wear. (I like cool). I keep the bedroom at 65 degrees, year around with Room A/C. Heat to room turned off year around. 3L of O2 added in at machine output, No Ramp, No HH, took it off after 8 years of using it. AHI under 2.0, usually just over 1.2. I consider my total vent rate to be excessive at 40 LPM. Jim

I used the Amara View for over a year. I switched to the Resmed F20 about 8 months ago. I still use it once in awhile for a change. When I used the Amara View, I was running high pressure (over 20 cm). My initial prescription called for 20 - 25 cm with 5 cm PS. I noticed that my pressure would flt line no matter what I set it at. I kept lowering the pressure slightly until I got to 15 cm and continued to have the same indication. I finally set my machine for 8 - 25 to see where it wanted to go. It has stabilized at around 13 cm with a PS of 4. I am about 30 pounds lighter than when I first started treatment.

I recently got on VA disability, I asked them if I could get a new CPAP machine. They scheduled an appointment and told my to bring in my older Resmed S9. They set up a new Resmed Airsense 10 and handed it to me. No sleep study required. I told them my Resmed P10 pillows mask seemed to leak a lot and gave me a Resmed F10. Thew tech said he was evaluating an Amara View and that he send me one which arrived a few days later. I never could adjust it to seal well so I messaged them and a Resmed F20 showed up in a couple of days. It's been great!

bigdave36 wrote:A quick note on the Amara View. My first try with it was a no go due to leaks. It turned out to be the wrong size cushion, a large vs the medium I use now with good success. Hopefully they will have a sizing template at your dme when you go for your fitting.
Good.Luck
I also was fitted with an Amara View cushion that was too large; in my case a medium instead of a small.
My nose went to the medium area of the template, but I couldn't stop the leaks with a medium mask.
The small really wasn't very comfortable, though, so I gave up on the Amara View.

I just ordered a Dreamwear mask, which has a sizing template similar to the Amara View's template.
However, my nose is not in-between sizes on the Dreamwear template... it looks like the small Dreamwear cushion should fit me well.
I look forward to finding out in a few days.

The engineers at Philips apparently tweaked the fitting between the Amara View and the Dreamwear.
I'm hoping that the results were for the better.

If you ever go on youtube, there is a guy that does pretty good reviews on just about every mask available that I was looking into including the Amara view. His channel name Thelankylefty27.

I can only give input myself on two masks as they are the only ones I used extensively. The first is the resmed mirage Quattro FX. It wasn't bad seal wise but I wasn't crazy about the straps placement. Plus the top of the mask almost touched my eyes (Medium) and drove me nuts.

Currently I am using the resmed airfit F20. I really like this mask as it is comfortable and I like the strap design. I was told that even though I measure medium, that I should go with a large and it does fit perfectly for me.

Great question. Cannot really answer it since have been through 9 masks in 3 months. Currrently using res med swift fx but not a happy camper. They all have some sort of problem . Mostly leaking or slipping on the head. For me anyway. Try them out and take your best shot

Try my mask, like the Amara View, it is considered a hybrid FFM. Click on the link to see it on our host's site. Comes with all sizes and an instructional DVD. I have nasal congestion which makes me an off and on mouth breather.
ResMed S9 range 9.8-17, RespCare Hybrid FFM
