Newbie with questions about the CMS50F oximeter

Post by Josiah » Sat Nov 25, 2017 1:01 pm

I am an officially undiagnosed sleep apnea sufferer. I am scheduled for an in home Watch-Pat study next week and at some later unspecified time a full sleep study offered by the VA.

In the meantime I purchased a CMS50F Oximeter and did and over night monitor which showed that I had 69 desaturation events (an event is defined as a drop of O2 saturation of at least 4% for a duration lasting at least 10 seconds) The average duration of my events was 38 seconds. My basal O2 was 92 and the lowest I went was 86. The average event low was 89.

I'm currently having some software problems with SpO2 Assistant software. And I was hoping someone might be able to advise me.

Can you detail the problems... hard to guess from here what you're dealing with.

Thank you Julie. I'm unclear as to whether every time you start recording with the CMS50F you are over writing the previous recording. Or do you have to delete previous recordings?

Sorry, maybe someone else can help there, not a technie here - no instructions with yours?

"It only saves 1 session and overwrites the previous recording."

Probable and even turning it off could clear it. Not exactly a smart system, but usable once you master it, then you forget and have to relearn it. Jim

This was my initial post to this forum and it was a good experience .... I asked a question and got some very prompt replies which answered my question. Thanks to all.

On my old 50F, recording a new session overwrote any other data. It didn't clear any other way.

Hope this helps.

. . . Not exactly a "feature", per se.
I found the CMS50D quite difficult to use in recording mode.
The directions not especially helpful--being written in pidgin English.
