Sleepy Head SD card question,....

Post by Mark55 » Tue Nov 21, 2017 8:03 pm

As I transition from one Airsense 10 Autoset to another, can I just leave my previous data on the SD card and transfer it to the new machine, or is it better to wipe it and start fresh?

SH won't care, it reads the data in and makes a backup copy of the data on your computer.

The AS10 *may* want to reformat the card so that only it's data is on it, it may not.

If it were me, I'd wipe the card... SH will seamlessly merge the data from the different machines though.

If your new machine comes with a card I would start with that one. You can use the data from 2 machines in Sleepyhead without a problem. I use a ResMed at home but a Respironics for travel and load both into Sleepyhead without a problem.

I was thinking the new machine might possibly do that. I'm just going to start fresh!

Neither of my machines came with an SD card. I'm using an old 2GB card from a camera that I don't use anymore,...works just fine.

When I installed a card from a different machine into my wife's Air Curve 10 machine, it reformatted the card and erased all of the existing data on it. Based on this, I would presume the Air Sense 10 machines will do the same thing.

Growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional.

Yep, that's pretty much what ResMed has always done.

Now Respironics though...they don't care what other machine data might be on that SD card or really what else might be on the card. At least the System One machines didn't and I assume the DreamStations will be the same. I had a SD card with 3 different machines' data on it and the machine didn't care at all.
I just kept getting newer System Ones and use the old original SD card from my very first one and never bothered to erase the card.

That was my guess, based on s9 experience, but I wasn't sure... thanks for the confirmation!
