cheyne stokes

Post by AMESS » Wed Nov 15, 2017 7:11 am

Looked this up but its not clear. Have a very bad cold and cough. 18 minutes if cheyne stokes breathing showed up on sleepy head. Can some oneexplain this--and is it from the cold? Thought this respiration happened when you were --ummm dying.

It's probably from the cold symptoms.
And no...not always with heart failure.
The machine might be flagging plain periodic breathing and calling it Cheyne Stokes.
If you look in your manual for your AirSense 10 machine there is a section on Cheyne Stokes and what real Cheyne Stokes looks like.
Then zoom in on your breathing that has been flagged to see if it looks anything like the flow rate in the manual.

XXYY--appreciate your thoughts-but have had a full cardiac workup recently. Talked to pulmonologist office--"dont worry--most likely from congestion and being sick. If it happens continually call us back. " Respitory infections can also cause this type of breathing.

Which "guy" are you referring to? One of those who commented or one of the participants in the two videos? If the videos, in what way are they "messed up?"

Did you watch the entire video? You have a knowledgeable PSG tech explaining this to you -- albeit with a good dash of humor, but Jason does know his stuff.

Impossible, but if by some level I am wrong, i'm sure you will try to be better at it. Jim
