Heated Hose

Post by KimberlyinMN » Fri Oct 13, 2006 4:47 pm

I'm seriously considering buying one of those heated hoses but I do have one question.. How do you turn it on/off? Do you just plug it in and that's it? Does it have an on/off switch?

Thanks!

it has a small transformer like most devices around the house, you plug in the wall then a plug in at the hose, I tie the power cord into a loop an just unplug the power cord from the hose.

then I found I was not doing this everyday and the hose would stay on all day, so I put a timer on it and now it controls when it is on/off. If I forget now its no big deal as I know it will shut off.

I use a timer on mine too. I got a digital timer, the digital timers sold in the christmas decoration section is usually under $10. I also make sure the timer has a manual mode in case I want to turn it on or off at other times. I did try a regular lamp timer but the 'ticking' was so loud it kept me awake! The digital timers are totally silent.
