Please Help On Tubing
I am finally going to order from CPAP.com my first Air Sense 10 For Her Autoset. My physician wrote the order and Cpap.com will set the machine too!
I am confused now as to which tubing to get? I see the Slimline heated tubing and the regular Climate Line Heated Tubing ($39) I think. I hoped the tubing came with it, but it does not. Can someone be so kind to tell me which is the difference of the tubing? I have the S-9 Climate Hose with a special zipper cover that fits over it. I am wondering if I should purchase the regular Climate Line Heated Tubing for the Air Sense For Her machine? Any differences between the 2 hoses, Slim Line or regular one? Thank you so much.

The slimline hose is smaller in diameter, the idea behind it is that it's a little lighter than the regular size hose.Luthie2006 wrote:I am finally going to order from CPAP.com my first Air Sense 10 For Her Autoset. My physician wrote the order and Cpap.com will set the machine too!

The larger hose is useful if you've got a bilevel machine with higher pressures, otherwise the slimline hose works fine.

Thank you Pale Rider: I was almost going to order the Climate Line Heated Hose but thought there was a difference. I have low pressures and not bi-pap.
Now I will have to also buy another zipper cover to fit this one as well. Do most people have the slim-line hose for this machine?

The original heated hose from resmed was the "climateline", which was the slim size. They later came out with the "climateline max" which was the regular size. so most people with heated hoses have the standard, slim one.Luthie2006 wrote:Thank you Pale Rider: I was almost going to order the Climate Line Heated Hose but thought there was a difference. Which zipper cover are you talking about with your S9 hose?Luthie2006 wrote:Now I will have to also buy another zipper cover to fit this one as well. Do most people have the slim-line hose for this machine?
This one?
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed ... -wrap.html
If so it will fit on the new heated hose just fine. I just now tested it.
If that isn't what you have...Don't buy any new hose cover just yet. What you have may work just fine on the new ClimateLine Air heated hose.
And yes most people who have the heated hose will be using the slim line version and not the larger diameter Max.
Plus a lot of people not using a heated hose will also be using a slim line non heated hose. They are generally lighter weight and more flexible so less annoying.

Re: Please Help On Tubing
Ok now I am really confused. I thought the slim line hoses for Air Sense 10 For Her do not come in a heated hose.
Can, you, Pugsy, show me the link for the hose? I saw the hose cover link. But I wanted a heated hose for this new machine.
I thought all slim line hoses are non-heated and regular hoses are heated (ClimateLine) Can you graciously send me a link to the slim line heated hose?
Does this come with the machine? I am not getting answers on cpap.com. They have an answering service for overflow. Thanks so much.

Re: Please Help On Tubing
The Climateline heated hoses from ResMed are slim line hoses..smaller diameter.
and there are also non heated hoses that are slim line.....same smaller diameter.
There is what is called the ClimateLine Max...heated hose but larger diameter like the regular 22 mm hoses are.
Here's the heated hose for the AirSense 10
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed ... ve-10.html
It's going to look almost identical to the S9 heated hose except for where it plugs into the back of the machine.
It also feels the same. If you didn't see the end going to the machine you wouldn't be able to tell one from the other.
Same diameter as your S9 heated hose...the skinny ResMed hose cover will fit it just fine.

Thank you Pugsy. So is it recommended to get the Climate Line Heated Hose or the slim line? Also I did see the photo of the Climate Line Heated Hose and it does not look as long as the S-9 Climate Line hose? Is it 6 feet long? Do you have the heated hose for your Air Sense?

Re: Please Help On Tubing
If you are used to using the ClimateLine heated hose with your S9 then get the similar product for the AirSense.
I have a S9 and the ClimateLine heated hose...this one.. 78 inches long and hose diameter 15 mm which makes it a slim line https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed ... ntrol.html
and I have an AirSense 10 and the ClimateLine Air...its 78 inches long and hose diameter 15 mm which makes it a slim line
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed ... ve-10.html
They are essentially the same hoses except for the end that plugs into the electrical components on the machine.
The ResMed skinny hose cover will fit both. See the spec page for documentation of diameter size and hose length.
You need to understand that slim line only refers to hose diameter....15 mm vs 22 mm for regular diameter hoses.
There is a slim line non heated hose that can be used..it is a 15 mm diameter hose also
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed ... ubing.html
So the heated hoses are slim line (since that refers to diameter) but they have heating coils where the regular slim line doesn't..
My recommendation...get what you have been using an working well for you...the ClimateLine Air to go with your new AirSense machine. You may not always want or need the added warmth but you can always turn it down...you can't add it to a non heated hose no matter what the diameter.

Re: Please Help On Tubing
What a birthday present!!!
Thanks Pugsy and Pale Rider. I did decide to purchase (well boyfriend did) the Air Sense 10 with heated Climate Line. I decided to go with the regular sized heated hose. It came with the set, so I decided to go with this. This is the most practical birthday present that I have received.
Now let's hope I know how to set it. I will print the clinician's manual, and I know I can rely on all of you if I have any questions when the machine comes.
Thank you so much. I appreciate it, but went with the heated hose since i have that now. Thank you!!!

Re: Please Help On Tubing
I have used the standard, non-heated, larger diameter hose for years, and when I got a new AirCurve10, it came with a slimline heated hose. I tried it out and immediately felt like I was somewhat starving for air. I put a larger dia non-heated hose backon and my pressure felt back to normal. I asked my tech about it and it turns out the smaller diameter hose with the same pressure lowers the volume of air/per minute to the user. So you may need to have your machine pressure adjusted to compensate for the smaller opening/hose diameter. It felt dramatically different to me.

And you *believed* them?HimmyJimmy wrote: I asked my tech about it and it turns out the smaller diameter hose with the same pressure lowers the volume of air/per minute to the user.
This is the wrong answer. The machines automatically compensate for the smaller hose diameter with heated hoses, with non-heated hoses the hose size must be set appropriately.HimmyJimmy wrote:So you may need to have your machine pressure adjusted to compensate for the smaller opening/hose diameter. Re: Please Help On Tubing
Your Air Curve has a setting where you tell the machine what hose you are using. If your new machine was set for the regular hose and you were using a slimline you may notice a difference. No pressure adjustment is needed...your "tech" was uninformed.HimmyJimmy wrote:I have used the standard, non-heated, larger diameter hose for years, and when I got a new AirCurve10, it came with a slimline heated hose. Re: Please Help On Tubing
Pretty sad when techs who are entrusted with patient care and setting up the machines don't know that there is a setting on the machine for hose diameter. Much easier, safer and more accurate than willy nilly changing the pressure just because the hose diameter selection was incorrect. Yeah...I really want that guy screwing with my settings.LSAT wrote:your "tech" was uninformed.
Hose diameter has been part of cpap 101 ever since they came out with slimline hoses and that's been quite a while now.
And we are supposed to trust these yahoos because they have the medical training????
