CPAP w/o sleep

Post by PurpleParrot » Thu Oct 26, 2017 2:12 am

Hi Pals!
I use my cpap when sleeping but I wanted to ask a question:

I recently migrated to a new office, which is quite "stuffy". I am having some small headaches. Would waring my cpap while I work during the day help? I have my own room where nobody is looking at me...

Thanks for any input....

Your CPAP is designed to respond to obstructive events which occur during sleep. I can't see how wearing it during the day would serve any useful purpose.

As Holden stated, OSA occurs when you are sleeping.

I guess you're thinking about the filter helping, but it seems unfair to your machine to use it in there... can you get some kind of e.g. fan set up with a hepa filter instead, or ask to be changed to a room with a window? You shouldn't have to work in those conditions!

While a cpap may help I wonder if you are allergic to something in that room, even dust?

If your headache comes from dust, mold, spores or pollen the CPAP filter may well work. If it is a solvent it will not.

If you can set the CPAP outside and just try it. If it works fine, if not you will need to dig in and identify the cupide.

A complete cleaning of the air ventilation system may be needed.

Good luck

You are entirely right Esel. I have mold and dust allergies allergies and get shots its so bad. My house is like a hospital. No rugs, HEPA filters and ultra violet light on air/heat system . It makes a difference. In Fl I had the complete duct system cleaned, Cha ching. They brought the a/c blowers from the attic down and they were full of black mold. We no longer live in Fl.(because of allergies) but still have the HEPA and ultra violet stuff in our NC house.
