Seeking info on a museum piece - Respironics Quartet

Post by dsm » Mon Oct 09, 2006 5:01 am

I have the chance to obtain a Respironics Quartet machine to add to the museum but I know little about it. The price is so low I can't say no

In appearance it reminds me of the PB320 Bilevel but flat rather than squat & high like the PB320.

The little data I have gathered is that it may be a Bilevel that was used as a 'Clinical' system (I presume that means in clinics rather than for home use).

It has a LED display & my educated guess is it was produced in approx 1998.

If anyone has *any* knowledge of the machine (google drew me a blank) I would be grateful for the input.

Thanks

Clinical unit

I would be careful. If it was indeed a clinical unit, it was used under a rental contract with Respironics out of Pennsylvania. You will have to contact Respironics to see if the unit was not returned. I know some of those units turned up missing when certain sleep labs went out of business, vanishing overnight, and not returning those very expensive clinical units. The only ethical thing would be to call Respironics, tell them the serial number or numbers and see if they want it back.

Bi-Level titratie
dsm,
how are you at reading foreign languages?
Oh well at least I know what it looks like now!

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body totally worn out and screaming,WOO HOO what a ride!

First page of the Google search I did on the words "Respironics Quartet" had this about halfway down page:

CPAP titration study -- CPAP vs. APAP (very long!)
Then, supposing that APAP was the best mode, how does that mode work on the lab's Respironics Quartet -- like the Respironics Virtuoso? ...

A quote from the post that link went to:
"The tech at the clinic told me that their Quartet machine works in 4 modes: CPAP, APAP, BiPAP and split night (APAP) sleep study."

Rested Gal

Thanks

So the duet is clearly a Cpap/Bipap while the Quartet is a 4-way machine

Tks all
