So, that explains your problem?

That is one of my favorite sites. Here is a link to their mission statement.

https://www.madinamerica.com/about-us/

""Mad in America’s mission is to serve as a catalyst for rethinking psychiatric care in the United States (and abroad). We believe that the current drug-based paradigm of care has failed our society, and that scientific research, as well as the lived experience of those who have been diagnosed with a psychiatric disorder, calls for profound change.""

While I love MIA, in my opinion, the best place for assistance in safely tapering off of psych meds, is this site.

http://survivingantidepressants.org/

They recommend a slow taper of 10% of current dose every 4 to 6 weeks. And some people have to go even more slowly.

Unfortunately, many doctors are still clueless about withdrawal issues but that is a whole other discussion.

Ok, not a narcotic, but I will say that once CPAP solved my night time reflux problem, I had a very hard time withdrawing from Prilosec. I was taking fractions of pills, staggering days, and living off antacids until i couldn't stand it and would take part of a pill. Much better now. I take a very small dose of Xanax once in a while, but no real dependency issues so far.

Glad everything is ok now Jim, Yeah, PPI drugs also have withdrawal issues which of course, most doctors don't tell you about.

If I remember correctly, the surviving antidepressants site had tips about how to taper off of it. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the direct link but anyone who needs assistance again should go to http://survivingantidepressants.org/. If you can't find the necessary information, register and post an introduction. A moderator will help you out.

Just so folks know, even though I mention this site frequently, I don't have any financial affiliation to it. Just wanted to be clear on that.

Thanks for this xxyzx! My mom had to be hospitalised recently because the ssri she's taking caused violent auditory hallucinations. The withdrawal symptoms as the docs try to find the right balance of medications have been horrible. Much appreciated.

==========

you are welcome

it is odd how i post useful things like this
and often teh libtard bullies come out from under their rocks to make snide comments about it
As one of those liberals you hate so much, I posted a very positive response to what you had written. But you have written incorrect information in the past and when you do, you are going to be called out on it. This has nothing to do with politics by the way, as people who are definitely not liberal have rightfully criticized your posts.

And in a previous post, you had previously written that you are always right. As I said to a family member who had the same attitude, it is statistically impossible to be right all the time. Everyone is wrong at least once in their life. You should know that as the brilliant person you claim to be.
