CMS 50F Pulse/Ox Question

Post by WearyOne » Wed Aug 16, 2017 5:59 pm

Just received this in the mail today and looking forward to trying it out tonight. I have a few questions about charging. Seems like it should be simple, and it probably is and I'm just missing something.

The light on the side is supposed to be red when charging and green when fully charged...but when looking at it from one angle it's fully red and when looking from other angles it's fully green. There are three bars in the battery icon when it's plugged in for charging; two bars when I unplug it. So how do I know when it's fully charged? Just keep unplugging it to check until the three bars stay there? Or maybe the light eventually goes entirely green when fully charged? Also, can you over-charge it?

Thanks.

Well, guys, if I just had been patient a few hours longer ... . Finally, the light is completely green now. It was just weird that it was almost all green but from one angle it was all red. Maybe it does that as it gets closer to being fully charged. Who knows. Anyway, thank you both posting you experiences.

Oh, and about how many hours will it record, any idea?

I seem to recall that it will only record for about 63000 heart beats...

all night
and some more hours
but you should recharge it every day to be sure you get the next full night

dont turn it off until you uploaded the data
the manual says that deletes the old data
Oh, thanks for reminding me about not turning it off. I think I read that somewhere, but had forgotten. I'm always turning things off, so for a while I need to put a reminder note somewhere I'll see it first thing. Recharging every day is a good idea.

As you've no doubt figured out, there's two LED chips in there, close to each other, so if you look at the light from the side, you can see one or the other when they're both on. The red is supposed to drown out the green, which is on all the time when plugged in.

Yep, two LED chips in there close together explains it. I'm assuming it would also be all red if it wasn't charged at all. But of course I don't plan to test that theory! Thanks, PR!

A lot of times, manufracturers cheap out and do things like skimp on the circuitry, in this case, just wiring up the green to be on all the time, and figuring the red will overpower it.
