A number of you were interested in how my experience with the GGA (gennioglossal advancement) surgery went at Stanford and ask I keep you upated.
I am just over 2 weeks from surgery and doing quite well. I have noticed that my CPAP is hovering around 6-7 Cm2 at night.(low for me) I am still using my CPAP until I recover completely and all swelling has gone down (2-3 months) as the dr suggested I do.
So far I am excited about what the ultimate results will be. My wife says she has noticed a BIG difference in my breathing/snoring if I fall asleep in the afternoon and forget to wear my mask.
This surgery is not for everyone, but is getting more and more press. Some insurances now cover it- wish mine would since I am out about $10K, but if I can feel better-which I have already noticed a big change in my energy level- then it will be worth it. Like someone once said-"you can always get more money-but no matter how much money you have, you cannot buy anymore time here on earth"

Rudy,
so glad to hear you are doing well. I bet the menu options are somewhat limited for you for the time being huh? Puried stuff in the beginning, or at least very little chewing?
Please keep us updated. I'm so glad everything is looking up.
