I remember very well how I felt. Scared, ignorant, overwhelmed, intimidated by this group.HopefulNewbie wrote: I must share with you that I find this forum a little intimidating.
Most of you guys have been dealing with this for a very long time,
and tend to speak at a very knowledgeable level that is hard for someone like me to follow.
Please remember, if you can, how you felt at the beginning on this journey.
I was lucky, though....I had a helpful member come upside my head w/a 2x4. He told me
you better wake up. You have OSA, your brain has been damaged and you are
not getting it. After crying in my beer for a few minutes....I got it.
I shut up. I started reading this group, books from the library....anything
I could get my hands on. Then, I started asking questions. I started trying stuff on my own.
I took control of my therapy. ....and if someone was snarky......BFD. I kept trying stuff.
Some worked, some didn't. I just kept at it. Today, I am my own best therapist.
Now, I get it. ..and I carried this cpap accomplishment into the rest of my life.
If I can do cpap, there is really nothing else I can't do.
It's not about us or them or he or nasty people....it's about you.
You do it, no one else does.
Get it? It's your life.
