AifFitN20 sizing question

Post by KTinTexas » Mon Jun 12, 2017 11:20 am

I am going to try the AirFit N20. It will be my first nasal mask as I have been wearing the nasal pillow kind. (I'm having trouble keeping my mask on for more than a few hours each night and speculate that I'm taking it off when I'm turning from my back to my side as I do each night.) My issue is sizing because the AirFit N20 does not come with choices. You have to figure out your size when you order. I think I'll wear small. To me the sizing guide seems to measure how wide my nose is rather than how deep. Anyone care to comment on this?

Thanks folks!

Yes, it looks like the sizing chart is measuring the width of your nose. It makes sense to me, because the mask needs to be wide enough to sit on your cheeks, not on the sides of your nose. Apparently they're figuring that the height of the mask doesn't make as much difference as the width.

Unless the end of your nose is really big as in vertical and not horizontal then measuring width is usually sufficient.
I am thinking end of the nose similar to W.C. Fields end of the nose..big bulbous nose.

While it would be nice to have an available package with the "fit pack" to include all optional sizes like what is available with other masks out there...there doesn't seem to be one available for the N20. I couldn't find one just now so maybe ResMed doesn't offer it.

If your nose is normal in size (vertically) and not big bulbous type of nose on the end of the nose then the width sizing chart should get you real close to the size you need. Most likely a small will be sufficient.

Thanks for the comments. I have somewhat of a "pug" nose I think but it is not bulbous (at least I don't think it is!!). I'm going to order the small.
