Well, Crapria is Improving

Post by bwexler » Fri Jun 09, 2017 11:05 am

It has been less than two months since I ordered my new SleepWeaver 3D mask and I got it last Thursday. They even got the featherweight hose, which on my order two years ago they never got right. They neglected to include any filters on the order, so they provided them for free. I finally found a gem of an RT at the Oceanside branch of Crapria who can actually make things happen. When I offered to pay by check, she told me her branch could not accept anything but credit cards, so I should just mail in a check. So different from the other branch I've felt with, it was hard to believe it was really Crapria.
I think I like the 3D better than its predecessors, but it may take a while to be sure. It is clearly very different.

I will be interested in hearing about your experience with the 3D. Decided to stick with the elan when I recently ordered from my DME but maybe next time, I will take the plunge.

So glad to hear about your improve experience with Crapria. Probably a shock to your system.

So far what I notice is the headgear is very stiff and firm and less stretchy than the Élan. This could be an issue for someone with "big" hair. It tends to hold the mask in place better than the Elan. So far it does not seem as soft but it is smaller than the Élan Time will tell.

Mixed reviews on cpap.com for the 3D, but early yet. Only 15 reviews there. Bears watching, I liked the Elan.

I've had mixed results with Crapria. Most all the time they are jerks, but ever so often, I get good service. Oh well..

That is Aprias way of getting your credit card info into their computer system where it will over charge you for as long as you allow them to.

My first order: $388 billed to insurance, I paid 100%. Now they say I owe my copay of 20%. No, you don't understand, I pay the entire amount before they will pay a dime.
No you have to pay the copay.
No, I paid the entire amount. See the rental of $121? You say I will owe $24.20 every month, right?
Right.
I paid the entire $121 and you're ALSO charging me $24.20.
The copay is always separate sir.
On a normal month, you'll bill 121 to the insurance company. They will pay about $97 and I'll pay about $24, right?
Yes sir.
Well why this month do I pay 121 AND 24? You're getting 145!
The copay is separate, and we've deducted it from your credit balance.

It is just sad and unfortunate to have any business involved in healthcare to use a business model like Apria does.
Many seniors and most others would not understand what is going on and just pay the bill.

I do wish Medicare and the others would wise up to them.

I would report them to whoever you can - Medicare, Insurance, Insurance Commission, Local Health Dept. Etc.

I did comment to the RT that Apria would never get my credit card number, and why. I also mentioned that they had earned the nickname Crapria. She just laughed and repeated to just mail the check.
When I got around to sending the check the only address on the invoice was the branch I had been in. When I scoured the invoice for my customer number, nothing. What would they do with my check? So I called the 800 number on the invoice and asked for my customer number and the mailing address. Oh, this is the wrong department, we don't have access to that information. Let me transfer you. After 20-30 minutes I had the information and sent the check. It has cleared my bank. Now will they start hounding me for payment? Time will tell. I wonder if it is snowing in hell. If it is that may mean the check was properly credited to my account.
