Hello Everyone!
I am coming out of "lurkdome" Is that a word?
I wanted to thank everyone for all the help and
excellent suggestions and for taking the time to write what
has helped you!
This forum could literally mean the difference
between life and death for some sleep apnea sufferers.
I recently got a respironics bipap auto and I am not
getting benefit from it yet. I just ordered the reader that was suggested
(DT3500) and I am ordering the encore pro software hopefully today!
Where is the most reasonable place to order it? and is version 1.6x
the current version?
Sorry to ramble on!
Keep up the great support for each other!
Dana

Hi Dana,
Welcome to "posting". Glad to hear that reading this message board has helped you be pro-active in treating your sleep apnea.
Yes, as far as I know, version 1.6 is the most recent Encore Pro software.

Hi Dana,
Nice to see you posting. Yes I think lurkdome is a word. At least we all understand it. Welcome to the age of computer forums.
I hope that with your new software your will be able to set up your BiPAP at a level that is good for you.
I saw you are using the Oracle. What do you think of it? Do you use the nose plugs etc. Maybe you can share your experience with in in a post. I am curious about the various masks.

We're looking forward to hearing of your experiences, especially with the Oracle.
We're a group of a 'thousand masks', and are anxious to get the scoop on ones most of us haven't tried (yet).
I commend you on doing your homework/research here; you'll be an asset to the forum.
Welcome, "Sir Lurkalot" ! ...Sorry, Dana, I could not resist that one.

Hi SelfSeeker!
Thanks for the well wishes!
Sorry to take so long to reply but I have been draggin' lately!
I had uppp and nasal surgery and I can't seem to tolerate a nasal mask!
my nose burns and I don't think I can get enough air.
I really like the oracle mask! It is the only one that I have been
able to fall asleep with for 3-4 hours, all the rest just a few minutes
and that's with sleeping pills! It is not claustraphobic (does not fear Santa Claus?) Anyway, I like to read and I can with this mask. I use the nose plugs with it otherwise after the UPPP I feel the air just rushes out and is not as effective.

Dana,
Interesting that you settled for an Oracle. Several of us tried them but I only am aware of a couple who were able to chew on them
Nasal pillows masks (which can take some getting used to) are very very popular - to me they don't put any pressure on my sinuses, the std nasal masks tend to do that & that seems to affect the airflow.
With nasal pillows masks I tend to lower my cms by 1 because it seems that more air gets through & it can seem overwhelming (I was using them at 15 cms until recently).
Thanks for updating us on your progress.
Cheers

Hi Dsm,
I have tried nasal pillows, I think it was called "adam's circuit" for some strange reason! I had a UPPP and nasal surgery and I always had problems
with the air going right out my mouth.(because of the surgery) I always had
burning first and then total congestion with any nasal mask!
I hope we all keep trying til we get it right!
Thanks for your input,
Dana
