It's Amazing!!!!!!!!!!

It's amazing what you can do armed with some REAL information. After struggling with cpap since march I had my second appointment with my sleep dr. When I attempted to tell her what I thought was going on she dismissed me, .............finally she listened to what I had to say about the things I've learned here. When I asked her about the central events, ahi, ai, and hi, it was as if she was reading the sleep clinic report for the first time........scary huh! After checking my machine, and finding it doing the same strange things I told her it was doing........she faxed a rx for a new machine.......also after I pulled out the machine manuel she read for herself where it states "no epr" in cpap mode..........that was after she insisted I was wrong...........I have not had the time to go through the report myself yet.........but it does state that at a pressure of 9 I did reach rem at 29 percent with 11 centrals.......at pressure below and above no rem sleep was reached........At the end of the visit she set the defective machine at 11 straight cpap........No clue why she did that, won't it cause more centrals??????????? Hope to have a new machine soon....but still won't know what to set it at????? She is doing a ct scan of my sinus tomorrow and then a return sleep study$$$$$$$$$$$ here we come.
Any thoughts on this saga would be appreciated........also she claims there is such a thing as pressure sensitive.......but didn't give me an explanation........who knows.........just add it to the mess!!!

I'm not sure what kind of advice to give you, but I'm glad to hear you went in there "well armed".

Best wishes,
