If you'll all excuse us Brits for a moment.....
Anyone in the UK had any experience about the reaction of the DVLA to sleep apnea? If you write to tell them you've got it, as you're supposed to, do they just take your licence away?
(For any interested, or even disinterested overseas people, that's the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency)
Question to any UK readers about DVLA

Here is a site talking about it
"Important notes on driving:
It is especially important for anyone diagnosed with sleep apnoea not to drive for any lengthy periods, or to drive at all when feeling tired. Your doctor or specialist must by law (and ethically) inform the DVLA about your condition. If it is severe, your driving licence is usually suspended. If you get treatment and this is working to the satisfaction of your specialist, you can apply for your licence back."

Thanks mikesus
My GP told me to be careful about driving until I'd seen the sleep specialist, and then the specialist said something along the lines of you can't drive between the time it is diagnosed and when treatment starts, and in both cases that's today
In practice, I did very little driving as I was signed off work, but now I'm feeling a lot better and have returned to work, the Occupational Health Manager in my return to work interview told me I should advise the DVLA. Better late than never, but I was just a bit concerned their reaction will be to take the license away whilst they get medical reports.
As I was diagnosed as moderate rather than severe, your link implies they will not automatically suspend the license.
Anyone out there had any real experience of their reaction?
