How common is CPAP

Post by SleepsHour » Mon Sep 18, 2006 9:15 am

I know a couple people with sleep apnea, and non of them wear CPAPs. Does anybody know how many people have CPAP pumps?

Thanks,

Don

More than you might think.

I sing in a men's choir and there are usually about 50 or 60 of us who show up for practice each week. One evening one of the guys mentioned that he had been diagnosed with OSA and that he was having a really hard time getting adjusted to the therapy. One of the other guys, a doctor who is also a hose head, asked the group how many others have xpap pumps. Six or eight raised their hands. That was quite an eye opener for me. I thought I was slogging through this pretty much on my own.
