I am totally new to this. Bought the Remstar M w the heated humidifer together with a full face mask and an oral mask. In the past week, have set the machine to Auto (starting at 4cm), C-Flex=2, Humifier = 4 (out of 5).
The result,.......can never really fall asleep with the machine on. Initially, getting the mask comfy was a challenge. Now that I have almost overcome the barrier on the mask, the problem remains. Just simply cannot fall asleep. The overall experience was very uncomfortable, so I pretty much took off the mask and turned off the machine after 90mins every night. My sleep quality become a lot worse these days.
I must be doing something wrong without knowing it, and I need help urgently. What have I done wrong. Now I am falling asleep while writing this. Help pls.
Newbie, need help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your Min. pressure is set way too LOW at 4.0cm (default setting). You will starve for air, it will feel congested, you will see lots of vapor in the mask.
1. Change the machine mode from AUTO to AFLE.
2. Set CFLEX to setting 2 (for starters).
3. Set your Min. pressure to 5.0cm or even 6.0cm.
4. Set your Max. pressure to your last PSG found pressure +2cm (for starters, default=20cm, too high).
5. Turn your humdifier down to setting 2.
Give it another try.

I generally agree with Snoredog, but I would set the min higher.
I have trouble at less than 7 or 7.5 (try snoredog's min then if there is still trouble try a bit higher)
Humidifier definately down. I feel heavy hot air at 4, I agree with 2 (don't know where you are located but in the East Coast north USA 2 or even less for me at this time of year.
CFLEX 2 is a good starter number, I use less (1) so start at 2 and if you have problems try 1
Good advice about +/- 2 on your titrated number.
Good luck and keep trying. Changes should help but you still may have to hang in there and give it time.

It really doesn't say that mszeto has an 'Auto' M. If it's not an 'Auto' M,
then:
1) It won't have an AFLEX setting.
Mszeto, did you mean 'Ramp', instead of 'Auto'? Reguardless, the start setting is much too low for me. Try 7 or 8.
Which model RemStar 'M' do you have? What is your titrated pressure?
