I think it was Ric that brought up this topic before regarding hip replacement surgery for a dog vs the same surgery for it's owner.

Remember Barbaro the racehorse who took a misstep in the Preakness.

This quote is from a September 12 news conference with Barbaro's doctors at the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary Center.

Barbaro remains in the Intensive Care Unit of the University of Pennsylvania’s George D. Widener Hospital, where he is recovering from injuries suffered at the Preakness on May 20.....Barbaro continues to be hand-grazed daily, and his vital signs and appetite are excellent.

May 20 to Sept 12 and still counting. Yes I know I'm mixing apples & oranges.

Which insurance plan does Barbaro have?
Wonder what the premiums are?......co-pay?

I'm glad I'm not paying his vet/hospital bill.

I had heard that Secretariat was "syndicated" for about 20+ million dollars.
If that's the type of money they're worth these days, then the statement that "Guest" made might have some truth to it.

I had alwasy thought that when I die I wanted to come back to earth as a Budwiser Clydsdale. Looks like mayber I need to adjust my thinking, as I may have to consider being a race horse.

But then you would have to do one & a quarter miles in under two minutes with 125 lb on your back-and no bucket of Bud after it is over-they just spray you with champagne-you don't get to drink it.
