New problem

Post by imsotired » Tue Sep 12, 2006 4:38 am

It's been cold here the last two nights - 42 degrees and the house has gotten cold. I don't ever mind because I like sleeping in the cool and will just throw another blanket on the bed. However I wake up with my nose itching and have to move to mask to itch it and ny nose is freezing cold and wet. Would a hose cover help with this? My hh is set at 1.

Hi imsotired,
Sounds like classic rainout to me.
Yes a hose cover would help also
try to turn up the humidifier
another notch or 2.
I know that also the postion of where
your cpap machine is can also have something to do with that.
Suppose to be leval with the bed or lower. I belive.
Someone else here on the form might know more about that.

Good luck

If you must sleep in a cool room, only the Aussie Heated Hose will stop
the rain-out..

+ Aussie heated hose.

Last winter I slept in a cold room without a heated hose, humidifier at 4 or 5-and no rainout. That was with a F&P Flexifit 406. The hose had a double fleece cover on it, the CPAP was lower than the mattress, and I ran the hose under the covers.
I'm using a Hybrid most of the time now and a new sleeping cottage that will probably be colder. This could be the winter I get a heated hose!!

Consider getting the aussie heated hose, they work great.

Humidifiers humidify the air by adding moisture, they don't really warm it. the aussie heated hose warms the incoming air.
