Encore Software

Post by sthnreb » Sun Feb 27, 2005 5:52 pm

I got my Encore software last week and have been using it. Does anyone know how many days can be stored on a BiPap pro II smart card? I guess it is in my manual but I will have some more questions on the results soon. I guess no one else uses the Encore software. Are there any on here from the Atlanta area? Rick in GA

Rick,

Many people on the forum us the Encore pro Software. Most don't have the Bipap pro II though. I think the smartcard will hold 7-9 days of data.

Hello Wading thru.
I did look in the manual and it said a minimum of 6 months. I think it was a misprint and meant a maximum of 6 months. It said it then starts deleting the oldest entries. My next step will be to determine what is normal in the printouts. I will download about 15 days today and then monthly on the 1st, keeping the oldest info to see how long before it starts deleting. Thanks for the response.

Rick,

It will keep 6 months of compliance data (how much time you use it each day). As far as the other data, it's only about a week.

So I guess that means it should be loaded to a pdf file and saved or printed out every week then. I will check it every day and see how much it holds. I have the two cards, one that came with the machine and the other that came with the software. No need losing the information or the software is pointless. I know some volunteered to read cards for others and I did too, but I now assume they would have to do it every week, which is ok, just frequently. Not much information to only record 6 days.

sthnreb,
Here's what I have just started to do. I have turned off the erase data on the SmartCard. Then each time you download you are asked if you want to erase - I will generally say no.

I will do a download once a week just to make sure I have stored all the daily reports.

Then I will do a download and erase once a month. This way I will have a long term summary (first three pages of the report) for each calendar month, and will start fresh for the next month. (I think having more than about 30 days on those reports will be a bit messy).

I personally see little point in saving each download to a pdf file. All the data will be stored in the data base and can be viewed at any time. I ask myself do I really need to have every single night filed away - will I ever have a need to look at it again?
