thanks chuck, i'll have to get tough with them, they didn't want to give me this one even with a rx. then tried to convince me that since it was past 3 months on the elite..i now owned this vantage,,,,,,,,i new that they were remiss in sending in the rental bill to my insurance so the insurance company still had me as renting a machine..........i had to get another person involved at the dme to get it all settled. i tell ya this is such a pain......i had less trouble getting part of the core of my cervical spine removed......now that should have been the pain in the neck this stuff is,,,,,pardon the pun thanks again,,,,,,ellen:roll:

Re: Pressures
you would ONLY increase the Max. pressure IF the AI indices was high. Hers is very low if not the best she will probably ever achieve. If she increases the Max. ceiling it may only creep to 13cm then 14cm then you are back to square one wondering what happened.GoofyUT wrote:BTW, I would consider increasing your max. pressure to give you some headroom, since your 95% pressure is pretty close to your max. But, I would discuss thus with your sleep doc first, since increasing your max. does come with the risk of precipitating/aggravating central apneas, and so ought to be done with caution.
Cheers!!!
she should ONLY increase the Max. ceiling pressure if AI's start to increase indicating pressure is not high enough.

here is the question (i asked it once on a different thread and never got an answer, so i would appreciate an answer.) even if your AI's are low or nonexistent, if you keep increasing the pressure commensurate with your apparent usage of it (meaning you use, 12, 13, 14 etc.), you still are using it, so doesn't that mean that you need it? (i am asking the question as if i am advocating something, but don't mean to sound that way.) yes, we have the bogeyman central apneas, which who knows whether they exist or not at any pressure, but are you depriving yourself of needed pressure if the machine says you are using pressures of 13 and 14? and where does it stop? (at least in my case, the higher i set the machine, the higher the pressure the machine says i am using.) but my ahi's remain low.
i guess your point is that if your ahi's are low, whether the pressure is 10 or 14, you may be using the higher pressure, but the question is what are you using it for if the ai's or ahi's are low, whether pressure is 12 or 14?
thanks.
