Off Topic: "Users Using This Forum"

Post by Offerocker » Sat Sep 02, 2006 2:17 pm

I've noticed, on more than one occasion, that my userid does not show under the "Usuers Using This Forum".
Refreshing and posting made no change.
I do feel invisible at times, but.........!!?!

Anyone else?

There is an option in your profile to be invisible -- did you select it?

Hey, you're right!! Your name is on the opening page as a Registered user online, but not up there on the topics page. I have noticed that it sometimes takes awhile for a name to show up after logging on. Or is there something you need to check/undo on your profile page maybe?

If you read the fine print on the opening page you get after you log in, you'll see this:

"This data is based on users active over the past five minutes"

Could be one or both or a combination of things.

Kathleen,

Well, that AND whether you have this item checked in your profile:

Hide your online status:

Depending on how you check that will determine whether anyone can "see" you as a listed poster/member.

I seem to recall (not long ago) seeing your "moniker" listed in the forum page as being logged in on the forum.....unless you've changed your profile lately.

About the "fine print".....I wondered for a long time why the names listed on the "front page" and the actual forum page differed.....then I finally noticed that little sentence.....and then it made sense.

Best wishes,

Den

I KNOW you did....I was just quoting the exact item from the profile.....and reinforcing the question since it had not been answered.

Wasn't ignoring it, only reinforcing it.

JCraig,

By the way, I've had that happen to me on a number of occasions....people come along after I've answered a question and repeat the same thing.
SO, I'm sensitive to what you're saying.....been there.

Best wishes,

Multi-tasking (computer) "spooks"?

Don't have a clue.
