Encore Pro Problem

Post by Snoozie » Thu Aug 31, 2006 1:02 pm

Hi Everyone,

Hope everyone is doing and sleeping well.

I haven't been on here in a VERY long time because everything seemed to be going well. Lately have been feeling poorly in the mornings and throughout the day, and thought I would check my card readings, which I also have not done in several months. (NOT- The system won't let me on!)

I cannot get anything on EncorePro and keep getting a message: unable to connect to specific database. Also, MyEncore is asking for a password (?) Don't ever remember having to do that. Also, it says Microsoft SQL server may be stopped. I am not a computer genius. Can anyone tell me what all of this means and what I am doing wrong?

THANK YOU!!

We may need a little more info to help you troubleshoot.

First, have you changed computers and tried to reinstall? Have you changed the name of your computer in your windows settings. The first thing you need to do in my opinion is make sure the SQL server is running. This server is the piece of software on your computer that manages the raw data that Encore pro uses to create the graphs and charts that it has.

When the SQL server is running you shoud see a little icon in you system tray (it's part of the task bar) in Windows that looks like a little computer. Rigth mouse click on it and you should get a menu. Maybe an items says "options". Click on that and see what the settings are. Make sure it says it runs automatically at start up. There could be some other issues, but try this and see if it helps.

I'm not an expert at all, but I did have a few problems with the SQL server when I first got encore pro. Like I said, we may get a better clue about what is going on if you can remember any changes you or anyone that uses the computer may have made to programs or settings.

Good Luck.

Tim
