For what it's worth, I have the REMstar Pro M with C-Flex (with heated humidifier), pressure set at 8.0, and C-Flex does make a difference.... it's my preference, even at pressure level 8.
Also, I obtained my unit from Apria without any problem. The keys were to: (a) have my Dr. prescribe this specific unit, with "no substitutions." Then, (b) Apria got my insurance carrier (CIGNA) to approve it. They had to order the machine (did not have it in stock), and it took about a week for CIGNA to approve it, but it all worked out.
Also I've been using the Ultra Mirage II Mask System (I'm fortunate in that I have not had any mouth-breathing issues).
Here's the link for the various "M" series units (with/without C-Flex, etc.)...

This is my first post..... lots of good information on these boards. Thanks, folks.

breathing and c-flex
[quote="jskinner"]Thanks for all the great responses. I can tell this forum is going to be a very valuable resource.
I talked to my provider today and am going to be upgrading to an M Series Pro tomorrow. Even if the c-flex doesn't help any (and I sure hope it will) I think the reporting capabilities of the better machine will be worth the added expense.
Now I'll just have to get setup with the necessary software and hardware so I can read the data at home myelf
thanks, -James

I just wanted to let everyone know that I got a Pro machine earlier this week and after two nights on the machine all I can say is WOW! What a difference in the ease of breathing. I used to wake up every morning just waiting to get the mask off and now it doesn't hardly bother me at all. Exhaling is SO much easier. Awesome.
