Dreamstation questions & Sleepyhead

Post by Pupcake » Tue Mar 22, 2016 8:40 am

I'm a Newbie starting Cpap 2/9/16. I was given the Respironics later model & am pretty happy with it except removing the card daily to enter into Sleepy head. I WAS kinda a pain as the ATT 2G modem didn't work (none of the att modems work anymore) So the DME wasn't able to see how I was doing (at a straight 6mm) They had to drive 60 miles to my house to download to a SD card to get info. The same day they came I received a box to send back the modem "since I had completed the trial period and was doing well" Lies.. No information had been sent- my doc didn't have any information to go on.

I LOVE the Sleepyhead software. As a medical professional it is awesome to see how i am doing on a daily basis.

I was a little ticked off to find I got one of the last older machines and my medical supplier was now using to the Dreamstation. Since I won't qualify for a new machine for 5 years I want the most updated one. With some complaining and speaking to my insurance company my DMO is willing to switch me to the Dreamstation.

Does the Dreamstation work with Sleepyhead? Without taking the SD card out?

Are there large cons for the dreamstation. Would I do better staying where I am?

I'm leaning to the Dreamstation but would really like input. I have read the comparisons here but I don't think I saw my "One" listed.
My machine is PR SYSTEM ONE REMSTAR AUTO 560 AUTO-CPAP MACHINE PACKAGE WITH A-FLEX

Thanks in advance

As far as I know, the DreamStation line is not currently supported fully by SleepyHead.
JediMark is working on making the changes to have this available and does have a version for the Mac for folks to test.
No windows versions seems to yet available.

I'm confident that JediMark will solve all of the DreamStation issues fairly soon.

So what that all means is the daily monitoring with SleepyHead won't be available for a while.
The PR 560 is an excellent machine and your therapy won't be compromised by continuing to use it and not switching to the DreamStation equivalent machine.

OTOH, the current version of Encore does support the DreamStation machines and you could use that to continue daily monitoring. To get a copy, you will need to post a request for a download address.

Something like:
Need Encore software for DreamStation CPAP machine.

There are some issues with installing Encore Pro under Windows 10 related to the SQL server software. Windows 7.1 and 8 worked just fine for me without issues.

Thank you so much.

Jedimark is a GOD!

I AM on the fence about switching, the main reasons are the bluetooth and the fact I hate taking the card out every day to download. I think I can avoid that with the Dreamstation.

Thanks again

To transfer data without taking the card out you need WiFi, not bluetooth. No cpap machines support WiFi without you setting to a WiFi sdcard, and using software to use it to transfer the data. See bottom of this page on two utilities that can fui that and their requirements.

Current Settings PS 4.0 over 10.6-18.0 (cmH2O) - Resmed S9 VPAP Auto w/h5i Humidifier - Quattro Air FFM
TNET Sleep Resource Pages - CPAP Machine Database
Put your equip in your Signature - SleepyHead v1.0.0-beta-1
