Symptoms...Not so much?
Re: Symptoms...Not so much?
Sorry for any confusion, but your doctors have to hand over results (a copy of same), the lab cannot, even if they gathered them... only a doctor or hospital could.

Re: Symptoms...Not so much?
Not everyone has the external symptoms. For many years the only symptoms I had were erratic blood pressure readings.
Having no noticeable symptoms doesn't mean everything is ok. There are many "silent" killers around. OSA degrades your organs, including your brain. You may not notice as improvement but your organs will last longer when they are no longer stressed out and starved for oxygen.
Remember too, diabetes, high blood pressure, if not tested for, usually only show symptoms when it is really really bad(like a heart attack bad). That doesn't mean treating it before you experience the symptoms is worthless.

Oh I completely agree. I'm not even thinking about trying to go without treatment. And I do have blood pressure issues, although they seem to be highly correlated with my weight. I don't want to imply that I think "everything is ok," because it clearly isn't. Something is making my breathing reflex weak, and I really do hope ASV therapy, after almost ten years of CPAP, doesn't make it weaker. That's my main worry.BlackSpinner wrote:Not everyone has the external symptoms. For many years the only symptoms I had were erratic blood pressure readings.

In any case, I just received the machine, a Philips System One BiPap AutoSV. And for the first time...nasal pillows! I can hardly wait to go to bed!
On the subject of subjective symptoms (subject of subjective?), the day after my ASV titration, about two weeks ago, I have to say I felt more perky than normal, despite having spent the night in a sleep lab. So maybe they dialed it in pretty well.
