Dentist do make oral appliances that change the position of the jaw and are supposed to help obstructive sleep apnea by helping the tongue from falling back quite as easily. The anecdotal reporting of the success rate is that it is fairly low.
I have only had one experience by a friend who had one made and it did nothing to help her. She had an overnite PSG and is now on a CPAP and doing great.
