there's no reason to mistrust the machine data--these devices are FDA approved and have to have certain degrees of reliability. And they are trustworthy enough for daily treatment!
Yes, Kaiser does home titrations routinely with great success. It saves them lots of money.
But more than that, a sleep lab titration is a snapshot in a very artificial environment. An APAP titration over a period of time in your own sleeping conditions can be much more accurate. PLUS it is an opportunity to learn how to uses the machine and whether you can be compliant, too.
