Re: Having too many events? Please help!!
Took my oximeter back this afternoon and recieved a phone call from the clinic, they said I fell asleep for 2 hours without any problems and then there was 45 minutes with servere obstructive apneas and then was ok for an hour and then started again and pretty much followed that pattern all night. They've put my pressure up again now from 14 to 15 so I'll see how that works tonight. They said the maximum they can go up to is 20cm so they'll have to keep upping the pressure untill either my apneas stop but if they don't then they'll have to look at other options. When I get back home this evening I'll download my data from sleepyhead and put the screenshots on here

The Bipap will go higher and also go lower to help you exhale. The technology is there. Many people go on a Bipap long before they hit 20cm.Gcfcos wrote:Took my oximeter back this afternoon and recieved a phone call from the clinic, they said I fell asleep for 2 hours without any problems and then there was 45 minutes with servere obstructive apneas and then was ok for an hour and then started again and pretty much followed that pattern all night. It sounds like as soon as you hit deep sleep and/or REM your events get worse. An average sleep cycle is 90 minutes long ending in REM.

Yes that's pretty much what she was saying that as soon as I'm In a deep sleep then it Happens. One thing I've noticed since I've been on cpap is that I used to some nights sweat so bad like when u have the flu that we would have to change all the covers during the night and some nights I'm embarrassed to say I would wet myself a bit, now since starting cpap all that has stopped and the night where I fell alseep again by accident without putting the mask back on I woke up in a pool of sweatBlackSpinner wrote:The Bipap will go higher and also go lower to help you exhale. Re: Having too many events? Please help!!
That is the stress reaction to almost dieing. At least the events are under enough control that you are not shaking hands with the other side.

without seeing a sleepyhead screenshot, it's just guessing for me.Gcfcos wrote: Spoke to the clinician and they reckon that's OK as I only had 1.1 obstructive sleep apneas and the rest are just apneas. Dosent make sense to me that explanation? So frustrated now

Re: Having too many events? Please help!!
Going to download my data from last night this evening onto here soon as little ones in bed, resmed report says I had 14 events last night which is 10 down on the previous night but I slept for an hour and a half less last night. I've mastered the mask seal now so that's good my pressure is now 15cm up from 13cm so be interesting to see the data later.

Re: my sleepyhead results at last, not good, please help!!
I also had problems with the Memory Foam pillows, even ones with a cutout to allow side sleeping. I bought a buckwheat hulls and shredded foam pillow from AMAZON ($49). It can be shaped like you want and it holds its shape unlike memory foam. Works great for me as a side sleeper. I can make a "divot" for the mask and it does not push the mask around. Shape it under my neck and it stays supportive. Greatly reduced my FFM leaks due to "pillow pushing". Stays cool and feels firm. Takes a few days to a week to get acclimated to it but it works.BlackSpinner wrote: I used to have one of those foam pillows with neck support and I really liked them. Now they make them with memory foam and then the supports disappear as it "adjusts " to your shape. All wrong! The roll is supposed to support because your muscles are the problem. I wasn't able to find a none memory foam pillow so I roll up a hand towel and stick it in the pillow case where my neck will be. It provides firm support for my neck and by careful positioning of my head at the edge of the pillow it also help with a bit a support for my jaw.
