newbie thoughts & question
so as expected it's been quite an adjustment period for me. I'm starting on my third week with my full face mask with mixed results. the first week was OK. I definitely woke up a few times a night but seemed to be doing ok for the first week. AT first the air bothered me but got used to that and then the mask started bothering me. So last week was kind of AWFUL. I think I was having some sleep problems anyway and was averaging 4 hours a night. Then Friday night something clicked and I had my first night where I felt like I could ignore the mask and slept the whole night. Saturday was similar. So I really thought I'd turned a corner but then....last night kinda bad again and I kept waking up being bothered by the mask. I guess I shouldn't expect this to be a straight path. My main question right now though is I seem to be waking up with a TINGLING face quite often? It's tingly in my sinus and chin area. At first I Thought maybe it was from allergies but now II'm feeling like it's connected to something going on with the mask in the night. I have to end up tightening the straps at some point because the airflow gets pretty heavy and I end up with more leaks (I have a machine that adjusts itself..so apparently if it's heavy it's cause I need it). Anyway, just wondering if anyone has any tips on this tingly face phenomenon. The straps definitely aren't tight in the back but thinking it could be from the way the mask is sitting on my face and hopefully I'll get used to it and it will stop. I just don't want to end up with a numb/tingly face all the time. Here's hoping I have more of my FRIDAY NIGHTS soon !
Re: newbie thoughts & question
You could be slightly allergic to the mask material, and I suggest you try wearing a liner... see Padacheek.com for those... but incidentally while the designer is a member here, I'm not 'pushing' the items but letting you see what I'm referring to - some people use T-shirt material to make them.
You could also try 1-2 nights with OTC antihistamines (like Claritin, etc) to see if it helps.

I actually was going to order one of those liners - I definitely have sinus issues anyway so was thinking maybe the air is causing inflammation for some reason, but I didn't think of the silicon being an issue. The tingling definitely feels like it's on the INSIDE of my face though if that makes sense - so not sure. Thanks for the recommendation, I'm definitely gonna get one just because the silicon is kinda rough on the face anyway.
