Using cpap with a cold and bad cough

Post by Gcfcos » Tue Feb 16, 2016 2:50 pm

From my experience last night with a full face mask it's not
Worth the hassle! Such a shame as was my first night with a cpap but doctor said to leave it a few days to clear up and try again then. Really frustrating, anyone else had the same problem?

I'm the opposite. If I have a cough or cold...which is rare...I crank up the humidity and have a good night. My FF mask prevents sucking in unfiltered air through my mouth. Since I have been using my CPAP on a regular basis...7+ years...I can remember only 2 bad colds.

Like above - it works wonderful crank up the humidity!!!

You can put some Vicks, Tiger Balm or eucalyptus on some cotton ball at the air intake to make you feel soothed.

Does upping the humidity make the air warm?

If you would list your machine in your profile it would help to answer that. wiki/index.php/Registering_Equipment_in_User_Profile
Some machines have separate humidity and tube temperature settings.

Well had a slightly (very slightly) better night after I googled it and it said as my machine is an auto then it's best to leave it on auto especially when your ill, so I switched back to auto at 6.30am this morning after filling the tube and mask with water! Result = just woke up at 10.45am!! Progress id call it
