Taping Mask?

Post by GeeBee » Fri Aug 25, 2006 10:01 am

I moved from a Small Simplicity Mask to a Medium size because I felt I was re-breathing air in the small mask - too close a fit for my nose I think. At any rate the Medium give me fresher air, but I have some leakage around the bridge of my nose and into my eyes when I turn on my side. Can I tape that area? And if so, what kind of tape do you recommend?

I'd try a sealed medical tape, not one that breathes.

However, have you tried making sure your face is damp in that area and that the rim of your mask edge is damp before applying. I used to use the small which was much to large for my nose and it sealed wonderfully if I used the water method.

Thanks, Lynne, no I have not tried using water -- will try that tonight, but will get some tape for backup in case I break the seal

BTW, what do you think of the hose over the head.... drove me nuts... I use the Flexifit HC406 Petite size now... fits wonderfully and the hose is down front. I find myself hugging it now or have it wrapped around me in the morning.

I like having my hose over my head. Since my Simplicty mask has a swivel feature I can put the hose where I want it. I also have a wrought iron bed with a straigth smooth bar that runs across the head of the bed, so I have my hose over my head and attached to that bar so it will slide with me as I move aroud in bed!
