Insurance paperwork is expensive, to say nothing of all that money passing under the table!
Why else would supplies cost so much more nearly everywhere else?

With their reputation they would get a lot of business. I am sure they have thought of this and there is a good reason not to, just wondering what it is.
Some years back, they did.......for awhile. I don't know (for sure) what happened, but they may have been "muscled" out of the market by mysterious (powerful) forces. Remember, most insurance entities have to be licensed in individual states.

Anyway, it was a short-lived venture.

Edit: I managed to locate an image to the site I was thinking of.
It was apparently an entity related to Medicare and was called "cpapforseniors.com".

Many doctors are no longer working with insurance [including Medicare] because they prefer not to deal with the paperwork and because they don't want to be told how to take care of their patients. Cash up front.

Just like we see going on here with Cpap.com and Secondwind, there are even patients with insurance who will pay out of pocket for their service because it can sometimes be cheaper and always less of a hassle. Less wait time, honest assessments, great service, and referrals.

Many find that using insurance only makes sense if you are getting a machine that year.
Between mandatory waiting, high deductibles/copays, and the usual incompetence,
local providers often save you little if any money, and cause endless frustration.
About 14 months in, I ditched the local DME, and never looked back until Medicare.
Thank you, Goodmans.

There are on-line CPAP companies that work with insurance. Too bad CPAP.COM isn't one of them

We would have used our Florida-based mail forwarding service, but when Florida is involved, insurance gets all wonky and even though we told them about a million times that we did not LIVE at the address where the supplies were being sent, insurance always denied our claims because Florida. UGH!

Now that we're back home, at least we don't have that to deal with.
We lived full time in our motor home for 11 years. Our domicile was SD but I was diagnosed in CO and Lincare was the only DME in GRand Junction CO that had an office in both SD and CO. For Medicare to pay for a CPAP machine delivered in CO, the DME had to have an office in SD - that is why I went with them way back in 2005
.
Over the years I had many many problems with Lincare's central supply center. They absolutely could not understand that our address changed every month to 5 months and kept sending supplies to places we hadn't been for months.
When we bought a house and left the full timing lifestyle I thought they would be able to handle it.
NOT so though. As I said above when my wife was told that after supplying her with a CPAP, machine, an oxygen concentrator. and supplies for 1 1/2 years, for them to say they had no record of her - that was the last straw.

By the way, when I told my primary care doctor that we were switching he said they had so many problems with Lincare that they no longer referred anyone to them.
