Hi, I'm a newbie here. I've been using my CPAP machine (ResMed S9) for one year, along with the ResMed hose and full face mask (L). In order to minimize leaks I have to tighten the straps quite tight. The result is that the inside of my mouth, at the corners of my lips, have formed small bumps caused by mask pressure during the night.
Is this a common problem? Can anyone recommend a full face mask that will help me get rid of these "cheek bumps"?
What to do about cheek bumps from mask
Re: What to do about cheek bumps from mask
It would be nice for you to mention what equipment (including mask) that you're using now, that would be very helpful in making suggestions to you. ResMed has several different full face masks...
One immediate thing, go over to padacheek.com and look at mask liners for your current mask. None the less, you shouldn't have to have it so tight that you cause permanent facial problems...maybe you're using the wrong size, but there are many masks that work for different shape faces. Hard to tell though, without more information from you.
Thanks!

Obviously you have the mask too tight. Most masks with silicone cushions must fill with air and float on your face. One of the members of this board...janknitz...has a very good blog on how to adjust FF Masks. The blog centers on the Quattro, but the information applies to most FF masks.

Re: What to do about cheek bumps from mask
Thanks for the replies and the helpful links. My mask is a large Quattro Air from ResMed. The CPAP machine is ResMed H5i + S9. I'll try the fitting tips and the mask liner.
